Empty horse trailer breaks loose in road
Article Text:An empty horse trailer broke loose from a pickup truck at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday along Route 322 east of Churchtown Road in Salisbury Township, according to the Ephrata State Police. Ronald Meloney, 60, East Earl R2, was traveling west on Route 322 when his pickup hit a bump in the road, and the horse trailer came loose and crossed into the east bound lane. Kenneth Forrester, 49, of 37 Hilldale Drive, Ephrata, was traveling east on Route 322 and swerved to avoid the trailer, but the tow bar hit the passenger side of his car. His car was severly damaged, but neither he nor Meloney were injured.
